Locavore Dinner Trial Run

To get everyone geared up for the Locavore Challenge, here is an example of how easy it is to throw a bunch of (local and seasonal) ingredients together and have a delicious meal.

Local Ingredients from the Greenmarket: Okra, Kermit Eggplant, Shiso Leaves, Shisito Peppers, Wax Beans, Summer Squash.

And why did I pick these ingredients, might you ask? Becasue they are all pretty crazy, the majority I have never used and I liked the way they looked.

Wild Card Ingredients: Brown Rice, Black Lentils, Tahini, Harissa, Lemon, Olive Oil (I cheated with a total of 6, pushing me 1 ingredient over the limit).

Marco Polo Rules: Saffron Salt, Pepper, Za’atar (remember that salt, spices and seasoning do not need to be local).
